Quality management of our herd is a top priority for us. The herd is G6S normal and has annually tested CAE negative. We feed 16% Milk Goat Enhancer, local orchard hay, and alfalfa shipped in from New Mexico. We also offer Duraferm Goat Concept Aid loose minerals year around. Our goats have access to pasture at all times but often prefer their barn. They are dewormed when needed, vaccinated against CDT and pneumonia, given supplemental copper and Bose for any selenium deficiencies.
Kids are raised under a watchful eye and plenty of time spent with them. We want our kids to leave us confident and friendly. We use a lambar feeding system and feed them free choice, room temperature milk. Our kids often work their way up to a gallon of milk each per day. Western alfalfa, Duraferm minerals, and clean water are available to them during the first two weeks of life. We also add a 17% starter/grower by the end of the second week. Rumen development is super important. Kids are dewormed, disbudded, tattooed, vaccinated, and registered with ADGA before they leave us.
